The opportunity / Why Iceland?

A small country.
A serious source
of talent.

Iceland has a proven record of producing players who build careers abroad. For a club prepared to look closely and act early, it is a market worth knowing.

Find quality before the wider market catches on. Explore players who could offer strong value for your budget — with a grounded view of their level, potential and readiness for the next step.

A clearer picture before you invest. As player recruitment becomes more expensive, every signing still carries risk. My service helps your club reduce that risk through detailed observation, local knowledge and an honest, independent assessment of the player — their football, character and readiness for the move. Better information helps you make a more confident decision before committing your budget.

01 / PROVEN POTENTIAL

Talent beyond the size

A small football nation with a history of developing international players. Iceland reached the EURO 2016 quarter-finals and the 2018 World Cup. In a 2018 global study, CIES ranked Iceland first for expatriate players per million inhabitants.

02 / VALUE THROUGH KNOWLEDGE

Look earlier. Look deeper.

The opportunity is to identify quality while a player is still developing in Iceland. I assess the football, the context and the likely recruitment cost, helping you judge value against your own needs. Fees and availability depend on the individual player.

03 / A PRESENCE ON THE GROUND

Stay close to the market

A player can develop long before a highlight reel gets your attention. Through live observation, local conversations and ongoing tracking, I help your club keep an informed view of emerging players and the names already on your radar.

Local access / A deeper understanding

See the work.
Know the environment.

My coaching network spans Icelandic football, from youth coaches to senior first-team staff. It helps me build a fuller picture of how a player trains, learns and develops over time.

On the training ground

I can arrange training visits with clubs across Iceland, observing players beyond match day and speaking with the coaches who work with them.

Training video through Spiideo

Where access is available, I can review a wide range of recorded training sessions through Spiideo, adding repeat observation to the live scouting process.

Youth international context

I can attend training sessions across Iceland’s youth national teams by arrangement, helping assess players in a different environment alongside their peers.

Training visits, coaching conversations and video access are arranged with the relevant club, federation or rights holder. All club-specific work is confidential.

02 / A player’s perspective

I know what
the next step takes.

My professional career took me from Iceland to Sweden, Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Romania. I experienced different leagues, dressing rooms and football cultures — and the challenges that come with moving between them.

With FC Astana, I won the Kazakhstan Premier League and the Kazakhstan Super Cup. At CFR Cluj, I won two Romanian league titles and the Romanian Super Cup. I also competed in the UEFA Europa League and Conference League.

During my last three seasons at ÍA Akranes, I combined playing with technical advisory responsibilities, drawing on my experience across different football markets.

Now, I’m exploring partnerships with clubs that value independent judgement and a trusted local perspective. My base remains in Iceland, with travel available when required.
